Every government servant is requred to file an oath of office soon after being elected or appointed. This is required to hold them accountable for upholding American government which in turn requiers that they know what American government is.

This is not knowledge that can be relagated to a constitutional lawyer. Every American citizen needs to know what American government is in order to perform the proper actions needed to preserve it for themselves.

To provide this same government to the next generation requires that this same knowledge is taught to every child and this was the impetus behind the creation of a public educational system in this country.

Thus, there is required a fixed curriculum to teach these ideas to preserve American government and our culture of a free society because the ideas of a free society don’t change, just as human nature does not change.

Freedom is not free and requires responsibility at the individual level to maintain it. This is because a free society can only work if each individual governs himself. This is why our founders said several times that a free nation requires a moral populace to stay that way.

This strongly implies that a proper education for a free man includes the teaching of a morality that creates responsible, self-governing citizens that do not require a nanny-state to supervise them.

There are not many types of morality that will accomplish this but only one. This exclusivity of a true moral framework would, on the surface, feel like the arbitrary “imposition” of a way of thinking for everyone that turns them all into collective drones but this is not the case. Like math, there is but one true formula for a morality that actually works to make people free and happy.

That morality is embodied by Christianity and the Bible.

If a population is offended by this, they cannot be free for long. That is because the core components of the “Law of God” is, as Jesus stated, to love God (perfection, justice, mercy, grace, excellence, beauty, honor, faithfulness, self-control, creativity, and the like) with all you are and to love your neighbor as yourself.

Is there anything wrong with imposing such an idea on a people? Not really. The fact that most 2 year-olds naturally do not follow such a code is strong evidence that man is, by nature, selfish and this is why government is needed in the first place whether it is the government of the family, the church, or the magistrate.

The liberty of a free man ends where the life, liberty or property of another man begins. This is why loving your neighbor as yourself is so important. You may intend well, but interfering with another’s liberty (as defined here) is what will destroy the freedom of the entire group of people over time.

How does this tie into an American oath of office? To obey the oath, you must know the Constitution, the limits necessarily imposed on government to allow the people to govern themselves. Government needs its own limits because governments are run by men and people are not inherently good.

To know the Constitution you must understand the Common Law which is the type of law it was created under.

To know the Common Law, you must know the Bible and its history because it was derived from the scriptures.

To know history and any information you must know the language these ideas are expressed in.

Knowing a language includes knowing its syntax and its grammar.

Using a language properly requires rhetorical skill and logic.

If a sufficient portion of a group does not understand its own language, it cannot effectively communicate within itself and will die as a functioning society.

Our public school system has systematically, over time, removed the proper teaching of history, language, logic, rhetoric, biblical literacy and morality and with it, law. Instead, it has begun to impose its own moral formulas of diversity, equity, and inclusion without teaching the true moral ideas that make men free.

Law is the embodiment of all these skills including and especially morality. The less our law and its practitioners resemble the moral standards of the Bible, the less functioning Law becomes and the less free and happy a people becomes.

History clearly shows us, how even great civilizations have collapsed. All of them have died from the loss of a sufficient amount of the basic traits of a perfict god because they have, over time, begun to follow other gods. The gods of lust, greed, murder, covetousness, selfishness, impatience, short-sightedness, and eventually brute force and beastiality. As these begin to reign, the people destroy each other by theft, lying, slothfulness and cheating.

This is why our schools must teach the concepts of a perfect God. This is why morality must be enforced, even at, and especially, at an early age.

Without a true and good education, a nation will perish in violence and death in time.
